Welcome to Cartoon Bank.
Original art is the original work on paper, submitted by the cartoonist or cover artist for publication in the magazine. Each original New Yorker cartoon or cover is truly one of a kind, and can make a unique addition to any art collection.
Most cartoonists create their originals in a combination of pencil, pen, ink, and wash; the size of the paper varies from drawing to drawing. All original cartoons are signed and hand-captioned by the cartoonists. Prices start at $1,900.
Archival framing (acid-free mat, UV-resistant Plexiglas, and a black wooden frame) is available for an additional $150. Shipping is $30 per cartoon in the U.S. To ship outside the U.S., please contact us to get a quote.
Original covers may be created in a variety of mediums – colored pencil, watercolor, acrylic, gouache. The size of the paper varies from cover to cover. All covers are signed.
We offer complimentary archival framing (acid-free mat, UV-resistant Plexiglas, and a black wooden frame) for all original cover art, displaying the original art side by side with the actual issue to provide context. The original cover art does not show the words “The New Yorker" or the date.
Please note: Promotional discount codes do not apply to original art purchases.
